Pax Jolie-Pitt makes first public appearance since bike crash

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's son was involved in the accident in July

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s son Pax Jolie-Pitt has made his first public appearance since his bike crash in July.

Jolie-Pitt was hospitalised with head injuries after allegedly crashing an electric bike into the back of a car in Los Angeles, according to TMZ, and was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

It was later reported by People that he was released from intensive care, having suffered “complex trauma” as he begins “the long road of recovery and physical therapy”. Mother Angelina Jolie and his siblings were reportedly by his side as he recovered.

Jolie-Pitt has now been seen in public for the first time since the accident, appearing alongside his mother at the Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of her film Without Blood, which she has written and directed.

Following Jolie-Pitt’s accident, an eyewitness who was on the scene and reportedly gave Jolie-Pitt assistance shared further details of the crash, saying his mouth was “filled with blood”.

“I didn’t see any broken bones, I did not see, like, profound bleeding, so to speak, and since I was directed to apply pressure at the site where it was bleeding, I did not see where I could apply the pressure, because it was on the head,” Lola Cavalli told Entertainment Tonight.

“And it was not a lot of blood. Like, you didn’t see like a fountain of blood rushing out. [But] his mouth was filled with blood. When [he] was trying to speak, I saw a little tiny stream of blood coming out of the mouth.”

Meanwhile, Pitt and Jolie’s daughter Shiloh’s lawyer recently alluded to “painful events” that led to her name change to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie after filing a petition upon her 18th birthday in May at the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Two of the former couple’s children, Zahara and Vivienne, also appear to have distanced themselves from Pitt’s name.

It comes after Pitt and Jolie’s ongoing divorce proceedings. Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016 after an alleged altercation on a plane involving one of their children, Maddix.

Pitt was subject to a “child abuse investigation”, though was later cleared of wrongdoing by the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services. Further details of the alleged incident emerged in 2022 when Jolie was revealed to be the plaintiff in an anonymous complaint against the FBI, which closed the investigation into Pitt’s alleged domestic assault. Pitt has denied any wrongdoing.
