Brad Pitt cleared of child abuse claims

He and Angelina Jolie are currently going through divorce proceedings

An investigation into whether Brad Pitt was abusive towards his 15-year-old son Maddox has been closed.

Back in September, it was claimed that Pitt had allegedly been physically abusive towards one of his and Angelina Jolie’s children while travelling on their private jet. The FBI were then said to be ‘evaluating’ the claims. The couple then filed for divorce citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ – while actress and UN Special Envoy Jolie said that it was “for the health of the family”.

“I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids,” said Pitt in a statement. “I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”

Now, sources close to the family say that the Los Angeles DCFS have decided not to charge the actor, and that will not change Jolie Pitt’s decision to bring the matter of custody to court – reports Sky News.

A spokesman for Angelina Jolie said she was “relieved that the inquiry is over and that the custody arrangements in place will allow the children to heal,” while Pitt is yet to comment. Jolie meanwhile, is seeking full custody of their six children. The 52-year-old ‘Seven’ and ‘Fight Club’ actor is currently under monitored visitation status with the children.
