Tomorrow X Together’s Yeonjun to release solo mixtape later this month

'GGUM' will mark the first solo release from a TXT member since their debut

Tomorrow X Together (TXT) singer Yeonjun is slated to release his first solo mixtape later this month.

The K-pop idol’s solo debut project was announced yesterday (September 8) with the release of a “mixtape intro film” by his label Big Hit Music. The trailer features Yeonjun against city night lights, as he embodies a sombre, rebellious streak that seems to hint at the concept of his upcoming mixtape.

Revealed to be titled ‘GGUM’, Yeonjun’s first-ever solo track is due out on September 19, although it remains unclear whether the song will be part of a larger body of work from Yeonjun.

The upcoming release of ‘GGUM’ will mark the first time any TXT member has branched out to solo projects since their debut in 2019. The group – completed by Taehyun, Huening Kai, Beomgyu and Soobin – last released music as a full unit earlier this year in April with the mini-album ‘minisode 3: Tomorrow’.

In an interview with NME, Taehyun said of the record: “At the end of the day, we thought of tomorrow or the future – the fact that you always get a new tomorrow seemed like another miracle to us”.

TXT are currently in the midst of their 2024 ‘Act: Promise’ world tour, with their latest show being at Singapore’s Indoor Stadium on September 8. They have since completed both the US and Japan legs of the tour, and are set to continue the Asian leg in cities such as Jakarta, Taipei and more in the coming months.
