NewJeans recently voiced support for former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin during their award acceptance speech at The Fact Music Awards.
NewJeans appeared at The Fact Music Awards on September 8, held at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome. The K-pop girl group were both performers and nominees at the ceremony, where they went home with four awards, which included Artist of the Year, alongside IVE and aespa.
During their acceptance speech, NewJeans give a shout-out to ex-ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, amid the music executive’s feud with the label’s owner, HYBE. “We truly love and thank [former] CEO Min Hee-jin who always cherishes and protects us,” member Danielle said, per Yonhap News Agency.
Hyein went on to say that she “want[ed] to say it one more time because it might be the last chance”, telling the audience that the group are “really, really grateful to our CEO”. “We love you so much,” she concluded.
NewJeans’ shout-out to Min Hee-jin is the latest show of support they have given the former ADOR CEO. Last week, three members of NewJeans took to fan community app Phoning to explicitly express their distress over Min Hee-jin’s departure from the company and managerial changes within ADOR and HYBE.
Since then, over 1000 “self-identified” fans of the group when written an open letter to HYBE calling for the reinstatement of Min Hee-jin as ADOR’s CEO, expressing concerns about how “the management shake-up” at ADOR could “impact the group’s future”.
Some fans have also filed a complaint with local police against media outlet Dispatch, HYBE and its subsidiary Source Music for allegedly breaching the Personal Information Protection Act and the Information and Communications Network Act.
